Welcome to the World of Induction
Induction is a proven technology that has been around for many years. The recent revolution in use has opened up a whole new world of exciting design possibilities for your buffet. GIBPAT are the number one experts in buffet design, including not only stunning new looks, but energy saving technology and innovations and guaranteed ways to imrove your buffet flow efficiency.
How Does Induction Work?
Simply put, induction heat comes from magnetic energy. Power is engaged when a field is established between your chafing dish or cooking vessel and the buffet surface or cooktop. There is no radiant heat, so it is very safe.
The Top 5 Reasons for "Why Induction?"
-
Fast - Yes, really - as fast as gas!
-
Safer - No open flame or red hot coil. Workplace, Health and Safety will be smiling.
-
Cleaner - Just wipe the flat surface. The surface is only subjected to residual heat. Nothing can burn on!
-
Cooler - No unnecessary heat radiating out. More pleasant in the kitchen, save on air conditioning too.
-
Cheaper - Since all the energy goes to the pan, and not up the flue or into the room.
What pans can you use?
Anything a magnet will stick to! You probably have lots you can use. Don't forget your woks and cast iron cookware and casseroles. Right down the bottom of this page you'll find some more information on pots.

Buffets on Fire!
Part 1: Induction, design and portability
Here's an article from our November 2008 eZine on buffets. It covers a little on:
General Buffet Design and Build |

|
Chafing Dishes
We have a variety of chafing dishes and soup stations that are especially made for the induction buffet, with an exciting new addition coming in time for display at Fine Foods in Melbourne in September 2010. It's a completely new concept for the Australian market that offers the ultimate in flexibility. We're currently working on a new pdf for you, but in the meantime, here's something to whet your appetite.
We recommend the use of glass lidded chafers to aid buffet flow, especially when used in conjunction with our new Integrated Heated Plate Shelves for the buffet. You can read about these shelves in the GIBPAT eZine for February 2009 or give us a call on 1300 779 725.
We'll help you find something to suit your needs and budget. Just ask us when you ring. 1300 779 725

Induction Portability
Induction that Moves
Induction doesn't have to stay put on your buffet. Everyone's requirements are different, so if you need to move it around we can custom build a trolley with a mobile unit (example on top right). If you want a unit that looks fixed but is on wheels, we can do that too (example on middle right).
GIBPAT Portable Nesting Buffet Table System
For those of you needing more flexibility than a bulkier mobile induction trolley, we've designed a new portable system you can just drop induction warmers into (among other add ons). This system easily comes apart if you need it to (a true flat pack), or the tables will nest together to give you a head start with setup.
GIBPAT Portable Nesting Buffet Table System
It's also featured in our November 2007 eZine.
Here's a photo so you can see a few of the table heights in the system. The top left table also has the drop in induction displayed. These tables are finished with laminate wood grain top (glass, stone, stainless, laminate and wood all available).
With all this variety you can see why GIBPAT are the pioneers and market leaders in induction! There's nothing we don't know about induction. |

Cooking
Induction cooking systems deliver lightening speed heat and are extremely safe, reliable and robust. Equally at home in the kitchen as workhorses, or in the restaurant or for a la minute cooking, induction cookers are so good, you'll wonder how you got by without one before.
Drop In and Portable/Tabletop Cooking
Choose from drop in cookers if you want something built in for the kitchen or buffet, or portable/tabletop cookers that offer you extra versatility. Wok cookers are also available in both drop in and tabletop.

Holding
As with cooking, drop in holding units are very fast, very safe, and much easier to clean than the traditional bain marie.
Drop In and Under Counter Holding
Choose the look you want for your buffet, starting with drop in holding units. These are simply mounted in openings cut in your buffet top (top picture).
We then move on to the next system, the now famous 'Stealth System' invented by GIBPAT (middle picture). This offers you the option of mounting induction holding units underneath a single sheet of special glass which is mounted into your main counter top.
The Stealth System was then developed further and the 'Super Stealth System' was born. This system offers you the option of mounting all your induction holding units under a single sheet of stone so no one even knows anything's there. Both the Stealth and Super Stealth systems offer versatility plus, with surfaces incredibly easy to clean, and able to be used for storage or ambient buffet if required. |

Cast Iron
Yes, it's back! No longer banished to the 70s, cast iron cookware is all the rage again. From the pictures on the right, you will no doubt understand why. The tagine and wok are our two most often asked for items, and they look absolutely stunning sitting next to the Hepp range of chafers. In fact, at one Sydney trade show, we had so many people wanting to buy our samples off the stand, we had to sell them at the end of the last day or be overrun. There are also the usual casseroles everyone loves and these grill plates among other things. Cast iron has certainly never looked so good. Call us on 1300 558 668 to find out what's available.
Pots
We have pots coming out of our ears for your induction cooking needs. Just about any size and shape you want. Let us know what your requirements are and we can offer you the best choices at the best prices. Our GIBPAT Contract Range has some great quality Matfer Bourgeat basics and our new GIBPAT Cookware and GN Pans Collection actually has listed which pans are induction compatible. Got any queries? We're happy to offer free advice on anything to do with induction. 1300 558 668
